David has uploaded loads of new videos on youtube, this one is very good, there are lots more to check out. He gets around and sets up amazing stuff.
A slightly bizarre video if you are not used to hunting. However it is a great demonstration of trusting the body’s natural tremors in response to the adrenaline surge of this young girls first deer hunt. The person who posted the video calls the shaking an ‘adrenaline dump’ in the written comment on youtube. That is as good a description as I have heard of why we shake. The person shooting the video does a great job of making the response of shaking really normal and safe. Following Stephen Porges we could say the social engagement he offers helps allow the young girl to feel safe to shake. (Thanks to Ciara... Read More
The first TRE Level 1 in Ireland went very well. People were fired up by the experience of the tremors and many of the attendees are keen to go through the accreditation process. Hopefully that means that over the next year there should be more TRE available in Ireland. At the moment Raymond Lambert, centre of the image above in a white shirt, is a qualified Level 1 TRE Trainer based in Dublin (firstname.lastname@example.org). I will be running another TRE group on Thursday May 3rd 2012 from 19.00 to 21.00 at Marino Conference Centre, Griffith Ave, Dublin 9. Cost 20 euro, please email Steve Haines (email@example.com) to confirm attendance
‘Ginsberg (1974) immobilized chicks, and then allowed one group to recover spontaneously, and one to recover, but with prodding and stimuli to terminate the freeze. These groups, along with a third group of chicks that had not been immobilized, were then tested for resiliency to avoid death by drowning. The group that had not been allowed to complete recovery from immobility died first, the group not exposed to immobility next, and the group that had spontaneously recovered from the freeze survived the longest. Clearly the experience of and the spontaneous recovery from freezing carries survival benefits, whereas not being allowed to go through this recovery process seemed to reduce... Read More
